New Look Nude Crystal Babydoll Top

Last night Josh and I went on a spontaneous date to Pizza Express, and I practically had to be rolled out after managing to eat so much. The waitress was super lovely and friendly, and for the main part of the meal it was just us that were in the restaurant. The food was so good, for dessert I had a chocolate glory and Josh had the chocolate fudge cake which I insisted on taking a photo of, it just looks amazing!

I didn't have time to grab photos of my outfit before I left, but managed to take one when I returned (instagram photo), but you can't really see the beautiful gem detailing (babydoll top is from New Look) so I included it on here - and a shameless selfie.

Fake Bake 'The Face' Launch

After trying out Cocoa Brown's 1 Hour Tan Mousse, I'm really getting into fake tan now whereas before I was too afraid to try it, and so I was really eager to hear more about Fake Bake's new product 'The Face'*. In the past I have tried standing sunbeds and attempting to tan in the natural sunlight (either seeing no results or sun burn) so I can definitely see how using fake tan is so much safer, and looks great if it resembles a natural tan - no one will ever know!

Depression | My Trichotillomania Story

I thought I would share my story in the hopes that others may understand that they are not alone. I don't want this post to be a sad one, or depressing, and let alone a sob story. I just want to think that by posting my story, it could help someone out there that's going through a similar thing. I wish I had gone and asked for help sooner, because 3 years is a heck of a long time to deal with it myself. I was too shy and worried I would get laughed at if people didn't understand, especially the doctors, but I finally did it. Although it's taken me a few years, I finally booked an appointment and asked for help. I knew exactly what I had, but the doctor just confirmed it for me... trichotillomania and depression.

So I'll start from when it all began, 3 years ago. It all started out fairly innocent and tame at first, I would pull out a few eyelashes here and there. However after telling my closest friends about it, they took it the wrong way and things went pear-shaped. I felt like I couldn't trust my friends anymore and I was stressed, I was falling down into this dark pit that some may know as depression. I wouldn't wish depression upon anyone, I was finding myself crying, becoming reclusive, and not wanting to do anything. Every day after school when I would step off the bus, I would climb into bed and cry until I fell asleep. I began to eat less, some days at the weekend I wouldn't eat at all. I was in a state, and I would get angry at my parents when they suggested I needed to eat more. I have never felt more alone than how I did then, I weighed hardly anything and I looked so ill. I had spiralling down days, not able to get out of bed, not able to be motivated, and unfortunately, some thoughts of ending it. It’s not a great thing to talk about, and while I am not ashamed to say so, I am just so thankful for the help that I've had from friends and family.

Remember Nek Nominations? (If not check it out here) From this, has stemmed RAK Nominations and now "no makeup selfie" nominations. Anyone using social media over the last week can't fail to have noticed a flurry of photos featuring women with no makeup on.

I've got very mixed feelings. I'm all for donating to charity; however I prefer to do this anonymously and by my own choosing. This new trend is very similar to that of NekNominate, in regards to giving the nominees 24 hours to post a picture of them self without makeup on. Talk about pressure, right?

I think raising awareness for any charity is great, and the amount of money raised so far is fantastic, but there are a lot more charities around than just Cancer Research. Though nobody seems to know where the idea came from (although Cancer Research UK have stated it isn't their campaign), the rule seemed to be that women post their picture and then nominate other female friends to do the same with all posting that the photos were to raise awareness of cancer. If women not wearing makeup is deemed as brave and courageous when held against cancer, it does say quite a bit about society today.

Lush Mumkin Bubble Bar

I visited home on Thursday night and since I don't have a bath at University, it's the perfect excuse to go to Lush and take a few goodies back with me. One of the things I took with me was a Mumkin bubble bar, probably one of the sweetest looking products at Lush!

Lush Mask Of Magnaminty Face Mask

Lush Mask Of Magnaminty Face Mask Pot

I've had this mask for a few weeks now and absolutely love it. You can use this mask anywhere - face, back, chest etc. There’s mineral rich, cleansing and absorbing kaolin to nourish, honey for its antibacterial properties, and peppermint oil to stimulate the blood cells just under the surface of your skin so that this mask leaves your skin looking bright and refreshed.

My St. Patrick's Day Beauty Picks

Keep reading for my favourite drugstore St. Patrick's Day picks that steer clear of tacky and tasteless, and veer more for the fun and festive. St. Patrick’s Day is a great opportunity to get a little adventurous with a colour that is not usually used, and that is green! Personally I'm going with emerald green and subtle smoky eyes rather than neon green covered in sparkles.

NOTD: St. Patrick's Day Nails With Barry M

This is a super easy way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, especially if you haven't got lots of time to design something more intricate (personally I'm really busy with University at the moment!). So if you're after Irish themed nails too, head for the green polish!

Shoe Collection - Heels

If I had enough room in my apartment at University, I would love to hoard the many items of clothing and shoes I own. However since I only have a box of a room (resembles a prison), and also share it most of the time with Josh, there isn't enough room to keep all my junk in there unfortunately. I already have way too many things, as I can never bring myself to throw anything away.

Sadly this means most of my collection of over 30 pairs of shoes, (and yes you read that correctly), have to stay at home, as I could only bring a few pairs with me to University. However whilst I'm home for the weekend, I thought I'd treat you to a little view of my collection! NB: Some of the shoes may contain in-soles on the heel, but that's just because I have narrow feet!

I'm going to start with heels since there's only a few of them compared to the amount of flats I own. I didn't realise it until I was writing this post, but all the heels I left at home and am about to show you, are all platform ones. So first up are these leopard print heels I bought from Internacionale during a sale. I've never worn these, but they would make a great addition to a cat costume, am I right?!

The 'TMI' Tag

I've had a lot of bad luck recently as I'm still unwell, and so consequently, my blog posts are a bit hit and miss at the moment. I've decided to go home for the weekend to try and get away from uni and to relax (bring on the many, many baths!).

So while I've got some spare time tucked up in bed and watching 'Wreck it Ralph', I'll answer a few questions that you may or may not want to know about! This tag looked fun to do, and means you can find out a bit more about me and my life. There are 50 questions so I hope you're sitting comfortably.

What are you wearing?
My favourite PJs - purple pyjama bottoms and my Sourz top!

Ever been in love?

Ever had a terrible breakup?
Unfortunately yes!

How tall are you?
Only a measly 5'2"! I even got asked for ID when buying a lottery ticket one time when I was 19!

How much do you weigh?
To be honest I have no idea anymore since I don't have any scales at University.

Any tattoos?
No, but I've always wanted one to do with cats - either paw prints or a silhouette of one.

Any Piercings?
YES! "Just a few". I have 8 at the moment and used to have hip piercings too, until I took them out a few months ago. I'm considering getting my seconds done though.

(After looking up what this meant) Any fairy tale couple!

Favourite Show?
I enjoy watching American Dad, The Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones. I will always love watching Friends though!

Favourite Bands?
I don't really have one to be honest - although I do like a bit of Busted! I'll be attending the McBusted concert in May, eek!

Something you miss?
I had to think a lot about this question, and had to come back to it after a while. I still can't really think of anything though. I do miss my cats when I'm at University however!

Favourite Song?
Timber by Pitbull Feat Kesha maybe? I don't really have a proper favourite song at the moment.

How old are you?
I'm 19 years old.

Zodiac sign?

Quality you look for in a partner?
Kind, caring and genuine.

Favourite quote?
The Cheshire Cat: "We're all mad here". Actually, I love quite a lot of quotes from Alice in Wonderland.

Favourite actor?
Johnny Depp!

Favourite colour?

Loud music or soft?
I think that would depend what mood I'm in!

Where do you go when you're sad?
I hide in my bed.

How long does it take you to shower?
10-15 minutes?

How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
I was actually thinking about that this morning which is weird! I take 30 minutes or less if I'm not washing my hair, an hour if I am (it takes aaages to dry), and an hour and a half if it's for something important like an interview etc. I wouldn't want to forget anything important for something like that.

Ever been in a physical fight?
Just play fighting with my brothers when I was younger. Do you know they're twins!

Turn on?
Correct grammar.

Turn off?
A big ego.

The reason I started a blog?
I had a blog about a year before this one, however I never posted frequently and it just didn't take off. I started this one when I wanted to try and improve how I wrote, and to not let dyslexia get the better of me!

Heights I guess. But in a way, doesn't that just make it more exciting when you go on rides at theme parks?! Such a rush! *I'm not an adrenaline junkie, honest!*

Last thing that made you cry?
This illness. It was at the point where it hurt too much to eat, but I was just so hungry. That and a mixture of knowing how much uni work and lectures I'd missed, and that I'm falling behind. I've been unwell for over a month now, it's ridiculous.

Last time you said you loved someone?
Today! :)

Meaning behind your blog name?
As previously stated, I love Alice in Wonderland and feel like that quote in particular suited me perfectly.

Last book you read?
'Information Systems in Business'... fun!

The book you're currently reading?
Nothing at the moment, but I suspect when I do it'll either be House of Night, or The Hunger Games.

Last show you watched?
American Dad in bed last night! I was having trouble sleeping so watched a loooot of episodes.

Last person you talked to?
My brother as I was making dinner.

The relationship between you and the person you last texted?
I last texted my boyfriend.

Favourite food?
Pizza! But I love mac and cheese, chocolate, and well, any junk food really!

Place you want to visit?
Italy and Germany (again).

Last place you were?
In the kitchen getting food.

Do you have a crush?
I don't really have any celebrity crushes - sorry guys!

Last time you kissed someone?
Today, as I went to get the bus home.

Last time you were insulted?
I don't remember the last time when someone actually meant it, but with close friends we usually insult each other in a jokey way as neither of us really mean it!

Favourite flavour of sweet?
I don't actually eat any sweets (many are non-vegetarian). I'm 100% a chocolate girl.

What instruments do you play?
None any more, however I used to play clarinet back in primary school.

Favourite piece of Jewellery?
I love my Pandora bracelet, it's gorgeous. But I tend to throw on my favourite pair of gold or silver earrings normally, as I'm too worried about losing the bracelet! I've got charms from various friends and family on it.

Last sport you played?
Eugh, exercise. It was quite a few years ago now when I lasted played, but I used to do waterpolo and was part of 3 teams.

Last song you sang?
International Love by Pitbull Feat. Chris Brown this morning while I was getting ready.

Favourite chat up line?

Have you ever used it?

Last time you hung out with someone?
Today! :)

Who should answer these questions next?
Anyone who would like to!

So there we have it, my answers to the 'TMI' tag. If there's something in here I've missed that you would really like to know the answer to then ask away! This tag was fun to do, so if you like it let me know and I'll try to do more. If you've done this tag over on your blog, leave your link in the comments so I can take a look!

Blogger Firsts Beauty Edition Tag

This is a brand new tag created by Jess, which I can't wait to get stuck into! I was tagged by the lovely Siobhan over at The Beauty Baker, so go ahead and check out how they answered! The image below is taken from Jessie's original post, and it fits quite well (and I haven't got the time to make my own at the moment!).

So here goes!

The first brand you found out about due to blogging?
I think the first brand I found through blogging would be Sleek? I'd never heard of it before, as it wasn't sold where I live either!

The first YouTube tutorial you watched and attempted?
I don't remember the YouTuber exactly, but it probably would have been something really simple like an eyeliner/mascara tutorial! When I first started wearing makeup I only started with the basics (just lip gloss to secondary school) and I slowly tried things bit by bit. I would have never been brave enough to attempt to do winged eyeliner etc. back then!

The first high end item you bought?
That would be a liquid foundation by Clinique! I remember having trouble trying to find a foundation that matched my skin colour because I'm so pale, so one day my mum took me to the Clinique counter and found a product that suited me really well! I have since continued buying it, and still have a bottle lying around somewhere.

The first product you regret buying?
My first proper "bad" review happened to be a Lip Balm Tint by Elf, and it was just horrible to be honest. I bought it in the sale so at least I didn't pay full price for it, but I was still very disappointed.

The first product you repurchased?
That would have to be Strawberry Lip Balm from The Body Shop, it's just so good I've been repurchasing it for many, many years now, and always carry one in my bag.

The first product you reviewed on your blog?
Barry M Nail Paint in Red Glitter was the first product I reviewed on Curiouser and Curiouser, but it's really cringey to look back on my old posts. I'm very critical of my posts, and I dislike that I never bothered to tidy up my nails back then, so the pictures look pretty scruffy!

The first product you bought due to a blogger review?
Even though it took me ages to get around to buying it, after all the hype of Baby Lips by Maybelline, I just had to get my hands on it! I purchased 'Hydrate' in the end.

Do you still use any of your first blogger make-up purchases?
I still use Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder every time I wear makeup; I rely on it so much to set my makeup and give that perfect finish I strive for.

I tag Kammi, Caitlin, Charley and Jess to do this tag!

Review: Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners

I wouldn't say I have really smelly feet, but sometimes your favourite pair of shoes do need that little bit of extra TLC and attention. Usually these are my heels, because after a night out they do get a little sweaty from all the dancing. This is where Happi Feet* comes in handy! Happi Feet shoe fresheners have been lovingly designed with carefully selected, specially formulated fragrances to revive smelly shoes and smell fantastic.

The Happi Feet Shoe Freshener kits come in 4 fragrances, Japanese Cherry Blossom, Caribbean Beech Breeze, Madagascan Vanilla and Freshly Laundered. There are also several funky designs to choose from, which makes these shoe fresheners even more unique. The Happi Feet freshener that I received was the freshly laundered fragrance, in a blue trainer style. I was also given a scratch and sniff card so I could smell all of the wonderful fragrances available, and none disappoint.

Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners

You use the elastic to secure the shoe freshener under the sole or over the tongue of your shoe allowing Happi Feet to hover in place, which means the air can circulate helping to work its magic. I tried the freshly laundered, and I can confirm it does indeed smell clean and fresh.

Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners

The smell is quite strong, but far from overpowering. I have used these on all my most-worn shoes, which have all turned out smelling so much better. Happi Feet are different to shoe sprays or other similar products, as you only need to put it in once and it works straight away.

Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners

Unlike a lot of products on the market, the packaging give you the ability to "scratch and sniff" the fragrance before you purchase, so you know what to expect. The packet is also resalable so once you've finished using them, you pop them back in until you want to use them again. One size fits all, and they also last up to six weeks so it means you'll also get a lot of usage out of them.

Happi Feet Shoe Fresheners

Although at first glance it may look like Happi Feet are targeted at just shoes, you actually can also hang them in your car or wardrobe, so I'm really impressed that you can use them for multiple functions. You can find them at Tesco for just £2.60 (look out for them in the Shoe Care Fixture!), which is a bargain for what you get out of them.

Yesterday I attended my first ever blogger meet up, so I thought I'd just put together a quick post about it while it's still fresh in my mind! Unfortunately I left my camera at home, so I don't have any pretty photos of my own to show you except for ones I managed to grab on my phone.

The Nottingham blogger meet up was organised by the lovely Becka and Sophie. We all met up at Zizzi's for 1pm, and I was pretty nervous walking in on my own. This isn't something I usually do, throwing myself into a social situation where I don't know anyone else. Actually, it isn't like me at all! It was a completely spontaneous decision on Twitter a few days ago when I heard there were spaces left for the #NottsBloggerMeet. To be honest, I'm so glad I took a step out of my comfort zone because all the ladies I met were simply lovely to talk to. I took a train from Lincoln to Nottingham, which is also something I'm very new to. Luckily my boyfriend didn't mind coming along for the journey, so I was very thankful for that! Plus it was such a lovely day so I spent most of the journey staring out the window.

Train journey Lincoln -> Nottingham

Collection 2000 nail polish in Vixen Red

I just wore something really casual for the meet up (leggings, denim skirt, black top and red checkered shirt), and used Collection 2000 nail polish lasting gel in vixen red on my nails. Once seated at the restaurant, we all wrote out name badges for ourselves and it was fun trying to match people up to their twitter accounts and blogs. We also had lots of discussion about what we blog about and why etc. I was sat at the end of one of the tables, so I didn't get a chance to talk to everyone which was a shame, but just another excuse to go to another similar meet up in the future! It was so easy to talk to everyone that attended, purely because although I'd never spoken to them before, we're all very like minded people and can easily talk about blog-related things.

The tables looked fantastic with goodie bags on each chair, and floral boxes scattered across which contained delicious shortbread biscuits and a sweetie. As we were ordering drinks, Harlequin Cosmetics did a brilliant talk, and even brought a few handmade goodies along with them for use to try! I loved the purple rain soap, and the body butters were gorgeously thick and very moisturising.

I was really happy with the location and restaurant for the meet up, as I'm terribly picky with food - and also a vegetarian! So Zizzi's is perfect for a girl like me. I skipped having a starter as I had a sandwich on the train and didn't expect it to fill me up as much as it did. I had a margherita pizza and a chocolate melt for dessert. And ohmygosh, they tasted so good! I'll definitely be ordering the same when I next go to Zizzi's.

Zizzi's chocolate melt dessert

I couldn't go shopping with the girls after the meal unfortunately, however on the walk back to the train station, I nipped into Superdrug and purchased a "few" treats for myself. I was so shattered from only having 2 or 3 hours sleep the night beforehand, so ended up sleeping on the train home and I jumped into bed for a nap as soon as I got back to the flat. I avoided temptation to look at my goodie bag until now as I'm writing this post. But wow! I'm really impressed and happy with what I was given, products from Lush, Harlequin Cosmetics, Nair, Kiss and so many others! I just wasn't expecting so much, and it was very generous for all the companies involved to provide such lovely treats.

Goodie bag contents

Superdrug haul

As you can see from the Superdrug haul, I caved and bought L'Oreal Miss Manga again! I also purchased a lot of nail related treats to give nail art a go. I'll probably post a review/how-to on these products but in a different post.

A lot of effort was put into making this meet up happen and run as smoothly as it did. I had a lovely time and would be more than happy to attend such events again in the future! So a massive thank-you to Becka and Sophie for organising such a great meet up, especially as it was my first and I didn't know what to expect. As I didn't get to speak to everyone who attended, I would love it if you send me your links or twitter names so I can get a chance to meet you.

Once again, what a fantastic day it was! Have you ever been to a blogger meet up?
