NOTD: Barry M Silk Nail Effects

I was so excited to try out the new silk nail effects collection by Barry M, however I limited myself to buying just two shades in Superdrug in case they weren’t right for me. I ended up purchasing Heather and Blossom (I may put up a review of Blossom up in the near future). For now, let me show you how Heather turned out!

The formula is good, and very easy and smooth to apply. I used Barry M’s 3 in 1 base coat, three thin coats of Heather and no top coat. The colour came out exactly like how it looked in the bottle which I was extremely pleased about. Heather is a gorgeous soft lilac shade, a very pretty pastel colour indeed, perfect for spring. The silk effect finish is a soft matted shimmer, and about 2 to 3 coats will give good coverage. I was trying to multitask while leaving the nail polish to dry, which is why my little finger especially is a bit smudged.

I’ve been wearing this polish for three days now, and the nail polish hasn’t chipped at all. Although without a top coat, I have realised it’s really easy to scratch the polish by accident, and even though it’s not noticeable, it’s just a pain when you’ve spent a while applying the coats.

These silk polishes are available in 6 gorgeous spring shades, available at www.barrym.com or Superdrug and Boots for £3.99 (P.S Boots have a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment!).

These certainly are a unique collection of nail polishes, I love the matte effect and how they dry so quickly. Have you tried the silk collection yet?
